You could also consider getting two Sporties. If you want a backrest there are seats available with them. It's probably only a matter of time until she wants her own bike so you'd be doing yourself a favor in the long run.

Seal Guy Ken
I am looking to buy my 1st HD.
My wife and I are mid-40's and would like to find a nice ride for those warm evenings and weekend rides.
She would like a comfortable ride with a back rest. Me... cool, chrome, noise.
We live in Northern Illinois. Riding will mostly be highway and quiet country roads.
Budget is $15K or less.
Tell me what to start looking for.
Thanks... I'll post our choice here when we decide.

Roadking would be perfect. You have a computer, play on e-bay. I bought a one year old bike with 1300 miles on it for a really good bargain. They're out there. The fact I had to fly 1700 miles to get my bike was just another adventure in my life. Good luck.

I too can say Road King. I just got mine and I don't care now if anyone buys one of the others for sale. However if you want a real nice Sportster and still go home with enough change for the trailer, jackets, t shirts etc I have one for sale.

I would recomend a new XL1200c (Sporster). You get lots of chrome, good looks and power.Change the stock seat to a Sundowner, and you get a lot of comfort.Purchacing a new bike, gives you the protection of a waranty.

Thanks for thesuggestions... I'm looking at a 2005Classic Ultra right now.
Private owner. Black. Screaming Eagle, Stage One,air filter, and gripsare only add ons.
Looks sharp. $16,500 and only 9700 miles.

Appears to be the right bike, and appropriately priced, as opposed to someone trying to make a few bucks (dealer).

Your thoughts?
