Today at my Harley Dealer, the parts guy said they don't sell the BrightAssLED tail light because they had so many issues with them. These lights look good on paper. I don't know what to believe. I am willing the spend the $249 if they are good and last long.
Now there are a mix of aftermarkets with LEDs for around $140. Is there anyone that stands out in the price range.
Your HD dealer's comment was probably voiced to the popularity of BAL over HD's LED tail. Competition will get dissed every time. I'm looking at the BAL-3 for my FLHX and the only issue I've ever heard was ensuring you properly install the gasket to seal elements from getting into the light's electronics.
5 year warranty. What the Harley give you on an electric part? I don't believe there is any thing to compare it to. It's at it's own level if you ask me.
IMO there is nothing close to the BrightAss tail/brake light. They are much brighter than the competition & have a choice of brake patterns. I have had one on each of my last 3 bikes and never had a hint of a problem. The fact that you're considering a brighter tail/brake light shows you're concerned about your visibility. The BrightAss is worth the additional money.
