I now have enough parts for a stage two-thirds. I have been paying my bike down faster than normal so that does not leave much money for mods or parts without Mama questioning me. (She wants new flooring before I buy any more parts).
I stumbled across a set of brand new pipes that were 12 years old still in the Screamin Eagle box. It was listed in the wrong category so it was getting past over in searches. I sniped the pipes for 80 bucks and 14 dollar shipping. Not bad considering they were never pulled out of the box.
Next quest was an air cleaner. I happened to find a Big Sucker stage one brand new in the box for a starting price of .99 cents. The description was spelled wrong so it flew under the radar. It stayed at .99 for six of the seven days of the auction. I sniped it for $46 and $4.95 shipping. The box has a price of $129.00 so I managed to save seventy bucks.
I now have pipes and an A/C for the price of a A/C alone. Brand spanking new. Next quest...a tuner.
I started sniping a few years ago when someone sniped me and it got me trying to find out how I lost an item I should have won. This is not a sniping thread but it is a thread on finding quality parts for reasonable money.
Welcome to the club You enjoy yourself when the bikes done and you get to listen to the braggers carrying on about much they spent doing what you did you did for a bunch less
Now you need to look for a new bike for only 10k that would be a real deal. PS don't tell mama. just tell her it followed you home and now you need to keep it.
I've been doing the same thing, collecting the pieces/parts for a FLST front end for my Super Glide. Snagged '02 lowers, '03 tubes (w/all internal components & new set of seals) & '02 front wheel for a hair under $400.
