Anyone have a tender jr go bad?
I have two and one will show green light within 2 minutes of connection
The other shows red for 1/2 hour on same battery ?
Which one is working correct?
Hap
I've had a battery tender jr. go bad. If I was to guess, I'd say your first one isn't working correctly.
I just don't get the fear of leaving things plugged in all the time
From the OP...I did not say that I was "afraid" to leave it plugged in all of the time I said I hated to leave it plugged in all of the time. It is my OCD about wasting electricity. Yes I know that many things are plugged in around the house all of the time, but they are also turned off. The things that can't be turned off would be unplugged but my wife would have a hemorrhage if she had to plug things in to use them. I also know that these things do not use much electricity either, but it is kind of like a dripping faucet, there ain't much water being wasted so why worry?
There's a post floating around here somewhere, where a forum member did the math of what a battery tender costs per month to run. I think it was some where around .25-.30
Comes to about or less than a penny a day. I think you'll be ok.

I've had battery tenders for years. Use them on my HD, tractor, lawn mower, etc. I've had one go bad on my mother-in-law's lawn mower. I have found they will make the battery last for 7+ years. They stay plugged in all the time, never an issue with over charging. Wish I had found them years before I did.

Over it's life and the added life it gives to your batteries, that tender is going to save you the cost of a new battery. That amount of $$$$ will buy you plenty of electricity. Sometimes you need to spend a penny to save a dollar.
I leave my junior tender plugged while it is parked, 24/7 pretty much. It draws only 0.75a, less than a dvd player standby I believe lol. I have seen battery lasts 7 yrs with tender care. No kiddn'
