Default Cleaning Your Ride!

Since we had a brief moment of OH-SO-sweet weather here in Northern Virginia, I wanted to get all the salt and crap off of the bike asap.

I know that everyone has their own religious belief's on cleaning routines and products, but for those that still may be looking, I wanted to give you a heads up on what's worked for me (and not that expensive). I've gone with the cheap stuff but after a TON of different products, this has been something that will definitely work and won't break the bank.

Meguiar's Ultimate Wash & Wax

(shiny by itself, nice layering)

Wash Mitt

Drying Towel

Excellent wax (quick, easy and extremely nice thick layer without f'in around with an orbital buffer)

Wax wiping (I use another one to do a brief buff after)

Oddly enough that turned out to be all Meguiar's. You can get (most of) this stuff from Advance Auto Parts, but it's probably cheaper through Amazon Prime.

For your NON-bike needs, this tire "mud" (Ammo) is by far the best! NO sling! I love it.

Good luck guys!

Looks MUCH better!

I use several Meguiars products also and never had an issue with them either, seems to be the main brand of choice also. As for drying her off I fire up my leaf blower and blow dry, a lot of people use electric ones but I have always used my gas one with no problems., why have electric around water.

Sprayway Glass Cleaner under $3 at Walmart and Original Spray Cleaner and Polish for under $7 and Meguiar's Quick Detailer work best for me...
with a monthly visit to the Legendary Hogg Wash.

I saw Meguiar's products in the trunk of a Duesenberg @ a Duesenberg rally years back. Figured if it's good enough for a Duesenberg, it's good enough for my Road King.

I've always been a Zaino snob... But sometimes get sick of having to order in online.

I may have to give Meguiar's a try.

I use the hose to wash my dirt bikes but never my Harleys.

Harleys gets lose dust blown off with compressed air. Then windex for the chrome and Meguiar's quick wax for the paint. I always put my bike on the lift to clean it. Much easier on the back.

I use a leaf blower too.

don't forget about this awesome product. you can use it on almost everything. it is very fast to use and if you miss wiping off some of it in some tight spots its clear so you don't really see it anyway. dont be fooled, it doesn't last as long as good old past wax but you will be done in half the time with this stuff and its just as shiny.

dose wonders on chrome too.

Haha, thanks for reminding me! I do love the air compressor with the little nozzle to get those tight spaces! I do need a table lift though, just because I'm lazy, haha.
