Default intercom

I'm new to the Touring models , is it necessary to have a cb to use the passenger / rider intercom ?

You can get intercoms with Bluetooth. Check out the Sena line, some of those have FM radios, will allow you to make phone calls, listen to directions from your GPS and even listen to the backsider gripe.

No CB required. The headsets are wired to a connector for driver and passenger

What bissjim said. The answer will vary depending on what you have.

On my 06 Ultra I have the Harman Karden. I was just down in FL and brought my gal to Daytona. We used the intercom, I have speakers and mic in both helmets. With my radio you push the "int" button on the left side. Push the "on" button. Then adjust the mic sensitivity (VOX) so the audio comes on when someone talks. Works good, lasts a long time. The "CB" part of the radio is completely separate from the intercom.

What level do you have the VOX set at? I would crank it all the way down & go from there.

What happens if you use the push to talk button? You may not have one on the 14 I am not sure

According to HD, the intercom is standard on the Tri Glide. Did you turn the intercom ON? And did you check the VOX settings? Or try using the PTT switch (if equipped).

Sorry I didn't see the reply from Steve.
