You can find my videos on YouTube (search on my screen name) or view them on my website in the Local Rides section:

Editing is kind of a pain but I keep doing it so I guess it isn't so bad :-)
AWSOME IDEA!!

Think you will ever start venturing out of state? there are a lot of other sites that show national maps of good roads to ride. it would be cool to see you do a video of a few out of state roads. maybe do a short v-log on the trip while riding talking about the trip.

anyway nice site. wish I had that in Michigan

My wife got me a Gopro and it's great. It's going with us to Laughlin in a few weeks too. I like the ideas about tethering the camera so I will definitely be doing that.

Add me to the list. The GoPro is amazing. Mount mine right by the headlamp on the light bar, using the GoPro handlebar mount I have four 64 GB SD cards, and a spare battery. Perfect.

Default Sony HDR-AS100V ACTION CAM

I bought the Sony HDR-AS100V last Sunday. It was 299.00. i have made three videos with it using 2 different locations on the bike. so far the one i like the best is located on the auxiliary light bar between left auxiliary light and head light. Pretty easy to edit once all is set up. Like it was stated earlier in the post, the size of the manual can be intimidating but really not that bad. Took it for a night ride last night to check it out and it did better than I was expecting.

One of my buddies brought one when we rode the Tail of the Dragon a couple weeks ago. He mounted it on the engine guard. (A concern I have about helmet mounts is that you will be thinking more about keeping your head steady and getting what you want on camera than where you should be looking to ride safely.) We made him ride last so a fair amount of the footage has the other two of us in the frame rather than just road. In fact, when he edited the movie, he deleted all of the footage that just showed empty road. It gets kind of monotonous.

I think it would be fun in certain applications like that, where you are riding with others, but even on a road as curvy as the Dragon, an open road isn't that interesting to watch. So it was fun to see myself riding the Dragon, but I don't think I'd ever buy a GoPro for myself.

that's the hard part about GoPro footage. first person videos get boring real quick. you wont see Hollywood make a move filmed in first person because its so difficult. you have to do a lot of editing to get to the action packed clips to keep peoples attention.

I took over 30 hours of video when I was in Switzerland. 4-5 hours a day of snowboarding and then the city stuff. I am not done editing it yet but I have went through about 8 hours of the snowboarding so fare and I only have about 15 min of edited video so far.

I agree, editing is the key no matter what camera you have. I have hours of video and pictures from the River Run and as interesting as the ride out of Oatman is, it makes for a boring video. I'll probably cut the entire trip down to 10 minutes at the most and it will be fun to watch and friends that couldn't go will get a great idea of what it was like to be there.

The remote included with the 3+ is a big help cutting down the editing time. Let's you turn the camera on for short, particularly scenic stretches without having to stop to reach for the buttons on the camera housing. I have a 3+ and a Hero 2. The videos are just a very pleasant reminder of good rides. Upgraded to the 3+ for the advantages of the remote and image stabilization. I mount my camera right on the head light. Pretty much fun. Find myself reaching for the clutch, brake, and throttle occasionally when the idiot operating the motorcycle (me) doesn't handle a curve exactly the way I think it should be done from my arm chair. Seriously, gives me a good opportunity to critique my own riding skills.

I did not find editing with Windows Moviemaker to be too bad a chore once I figured out that they use "Split" to break the video up into manageable pieces to delete the boring stuff.
