Well here's one for ya'll. I was out for a ride after work and was just getting off the interstate to cruise one of my favorite back roads. I kinda pushed my back against the seat pad to get comfortable and BAM, my right peg snaps off and I do a warble but still stay upright. I honestly don't think I pushed it that hard. I'm no bell beefer, 5'8'' and 170 soakin wet. These are kuryakin pegs and maybe it's cheap China cast metal. When the new pair comes in I'll look to see where they're made. On all the bikes I've owned over the years, I've never had this happen. On bikes with mid pegs I would stand up all the time to stretch and get comfortable. I'll be thinkin twice in the future, just thought I'd pass it along.................
I wouldn't buy another set from them if that set did that. I had a kury engine guard that snapped at one of the mounting points from bumping into something at like 2mph. Just cheap metal instead of real metal. They use cheaper metals and they keep the savings.
Probably had to be a flaw in the metal, no way you could have known it. In any event, could have been a bad scene, glad you did'nt lose it. I can just about garantee it was made in China & your next one will too. Just about all the after market parts I got for my bike were.

I've heard a lot about kuryakyn grips breaking, but this is the first i've heard about there pegs. Guess it is just hit or miss about what you get. Are they chromed aluminum or what?
That's not too uncommon..... I had a kicker arm that was aftermarket on my shovelhead and it snapped off at the top where the pedal was.. no injury but I started looking for only original HD ones even though they were old and scraped up... they were at least solid.
If you think about it most of us probably spent our time on dirt bikes as we were first practicing growing older. Most of the time you were riding you were on the pegs. They rarely had an issue. For the most part I would think we should be fine on our OEM pegs. For the aftermarket stuff .... Well I stood on mine today (before I read this!).

I had one of these mounts break on me. One of the pieces that the peg slides between and the bolt goes thru to hold it on. Just snapped. It was an HD part, and solid billet.
