My hands an wrists never got sore on my gixxer over 100mph but the wallet does when they catch you and sooner or later they will. The Ultra keeps me out of trouble its like a Winnebago!
I'm 53. But 30 years ago, I was in the US Army, young, dumb & full of....... Anyway, I had a V65 Sabre & a fellow Ranger had a V-Max. It was "land speed records" everywhere we went. Those were the days. But I love my Road King. Different age now. But I wouldn't mind taking a Hayabusa on the Dragon just once! LOL!

OK...here's my gross overstatement of the obvious... Expecting a sport bike to be comfortable is like expecting a Harley to rip around VIR at a 60-degree lean angle. Sport bikes are not, and never have been, designed for comfort...but are exactly what you need on a race course at race speeds or on a twisty back road. Harleys (today's models) are not, and never have been, designed for speed...but are exactly what we need for the kind of riding most of us do (when not on our sport bikes). Comparing the two is laughable. Sport bikes are uncomfortable? Well no $#!&. Yes, if you try to ride a sport bike around town at 'cruising' speeds and choose to put the weight on your arms it gets old. And yes, if you try to ride your Harley on a race track at race speeds you won't make it through 3 turns...and won't come close to reaching race speeds. They are two different tools...each great at what they were designed to do. Why is that such a big deal?
As for riding style or ability, you never saw any skills-challenged jack wipes on Harleys weaving around in traffic? C'mon. I will say that I see far more sport bike riders doing it...far more... I think it's the '**** and vinegar' factor...testosterone-charged 20-somethings versus mellowed 'gray beards' who have a lot of that out of their (our) system...not all...but a lot.
I love my Harley for what it is. And I love my Ducati for what it is. One is a double-barrel 12 gauge shotgun...the other is a full-auto M4. One is a '59 Cadillac convertible...the other is a Ferrari. One is for relaxing...the other is not. One is comfortable at 70 mph...the other is comfortable at 170 mph. One is a hammer...the other is a jigsaw.
If you only want one tool, one gun, one car/truck, one kind of bike...that's fine. I prefer multiple tools, multiple guns, a truck and a car...and multiple kinds of bikes.

I'm sitting in my hotel room and decided to text my buddy with the R6 just to get a rise out of him. I text, "admit it my bike is f__king cool". I expected to get a smart *** comment bout crotch rockets vs harleys but no. He replied, "hell yea, I want one just like it" Made me a proud Harley owner.
LOL, love it! Sport bikes are for going fast with the scenery in a blur. Getting tickets, and raising insurance rates.
Harleys on the other hand, bad ***, great scenery you ride through, chicks, *****, the rumble of the engine.
I must be riding in all the wrong places, I have never seen ******* while riding my Harley. Oh well story of my life!!!
It's easy to forget that off the line, a Harley with just a few Stage 1 tricks hangs in very well. Of course, the crotch rocket takes over at around 45 to 50. But Harleys have some torque and traction from a dead stop.
Glad you enjoyed the ride.
No, not really. When I had my Ninja I could still smoke Harleys off the line if I started in 2nd gear.
A fast Harley is still a slow motorcycle.

Southpaw Super Glide: A Left-Hand-Drive 1979 Harley FXE Built to Fit the Rider
Im really happy that once i got my harley i kept my ZX6R. Dont really know what it is. The fact that getting to 100 is 2nd gear and a few seconds. The thrill of doing 120 through traic still gets me. But when im o n my harley everything changes. i sit back and enjoy the ride. The sport bike its hunched over and be a jackass. The sportbike is very uncomfortble. Hate riding it long distance. i just cant do it. My back and knees hurt like a mother. But for being a cowboy you cant beat it. Hoepfully one day it wont catch up to me. Then again i know when to back off. If youve never ridden one you cant really bash it. I was typical when all i owned was the sporty. Harley sucks this, harley crap that, turned gas into noise at the exspense of horsepower that. But the first time i rode mine i shut he hell up.
