Default Ignition troubles

I have a 1984 flh bike runs good until you roll on the throttle at hi rpm it, cuts out pops out the carb and exhaust right before i shift i thought it was a carb issue but it isnt it acted like clogged intermediate jet on a super e carb im still running the stock electronic ignition can any one help me out and steere me in a direction to look for a fix

Have you tried checking the fuel filter and gas cap vent for clogs?

Yes new manifold bands and checked fuel filter in tank

Check your timing. Sounds retarded. Scribe your original mark then go 2 lines forward and see what happens.

Possibly the accelerator pump on the carb needs work. Too much air and too little gas. You might be able to get a rebuild kit to fix it. Also could be a vacuum leak somewhere in the intake. Check the plug wires too. If they're old replace them.

How old is the carb? I'd take the whole thing apart and rebuild it and clean it up... if the carb is 30 years old like the shovel, it can't hurt.

I just replaced the wires since they were 13 yrs old im running a s&s super e when i remove gas caps you can here the pressure release but the gas caps always did that its seems like the ignition cuts out then comes back on then she backfires out the carb and exhaust

Have you checked to see if the coil is bad?
