I'll check out adjusting angle--it's the HD screen and doesn't appear to adjust for angle. Plus it's already as high on forks as clamps allow. Thanks for thought...
I'm looking for a solution to buffeting problem on 2005 Dyna SG. I installed slipstreamer spitfire and tried it with my new modular helmet (great helmet=AFX). The buffeting got real bad above 55-60 mph- head almost vibrating right off. Also does this with glasses if using half helmet.
I am 5'8" with 30" inseam. What is the answer?
I like the idea (and look) of the quarter fairing. So many choices between HD, dead center speed freak, memphis shades gauntlet, Ness. I would need the hardware as well and would like to not spend a fortune.
Also heard about Klock werks billboard as a good option to go the windshield route- still need hardware
Real world performance on the highway is the issue- Buffeting sucks. What also sucks is bugs, sand, rocks, etc.
Also don't want to be looking through the windshield.
I sound like I am menstruating over here, but maybe some of you have tried these options.... Thanks
Hand you tried the HD fork mounted deflectors for $99? The fangs are ugly but got rid of 90% of my buffeting problem.
+1 on the fork deflectors. I hated the wind pounding my ears (half helmet). I put on a batwing fairing and it helped a little. Then I figured out the wind was following up my legs, across my chest and smacking into my head. I handmade a set of fork deflectors and it made a big improvement. Added a lower windshield with a little flip on the top edge. More improvement. Moved the mirrors below the bars. Even more improvement. Now if I was a smoker, I think I could light a cig at 60 mph. Just keep working at it, you'll find a combo that works for you.
Starting to lean toward the rifle roadster quarter fairing. I like the idea of the flyscreen and the price is good, but I am having doubts about the buffeting problem being fixed by such a small shield.
Memphis shades gauntlet not made for 2005, just after 2006.
Batwing is great but expensive= fairing + mounts + windshield = $$

Actually I only have about $250 in my batwing. I was patient on ebay until I found a good deal on an '83 FLH fairing, the older ones don't have the radio & gauges so they are reasonable ($100). Bent up some offset brackets from some stainless I had and mounted to the fork clamp bolts. Had a buddy with a body shop re-spray it. Bought a piece of tinted polycarbonate at a big box store, cut out the windshield shape & bolted it on. Done.
