Because so much stuff that's made is sourced outside of the US, I rarely if ever, look to see want is made where.

Not for long. FOTL is moving the textile operation to Honduras. HQ is in Bowling Green, the manufacturing plant is in Jamestown, KY... or at least it will be for a few more months.

As a Father's Day gift my daughter gave me one of those $60 HD polo shirts -- nice shirt, but not one I would buy for myself. Anyway, I just took a look at the tag and it was manufactured in Swaziland(!) I didn't even know where that is; Google says it's a little country in Africa. At least it ain't in China...

My Company just bought a load of shirts from a printing company, they were Fruit of Loom shirts with the company name and logo over the front pocket and a Large design with the company's name and phone number on the back, the shirts are good quality (T-shirts) they got them in White, Black and Orange, they bought 500 the cost was $1785.00 which is $3.57 a shirt with printing.

I find it amazing at the Harley shop that a shirt with graphics cost well over $45.00+ for one and they are made outside the USA, I would suspect HD only pays $3 to $5 a shirt so the rest is one heck of a markup, even if the dealer pays $10 to $15 a shirt it is still way too high.

I just about caused them to have to call 911 due to a heart attack when I saw on the label and on a paper tag, MADE IN USA. I picked the shirt up in my size and carried it around over my shoulder as I finished browsing and waiting. I caught the owner at his desk and pointed out that even though the shirt was expensive, I was buying my first HD T-Shirt in about 30 years and showed him the tag. The lady in the Motorclothes department made the comment "if they can make a few in the USA they can make them all in the USA." I hope they do not start on my behalf because I probably still would not buy many shirts. However, that one took a bit more coin out of my pocket. So MADE IN USA Genuine HD Shirts do exist at the dealers (at least the one in my area).
That's a start, maybe they will start making more of the motorcycle here, too???
NAH.

I was in Nebraska last month for work. I went into the HD dealership to buy some shirts. I had picked out all of the shirts, then I saw a small rack with a "Made in USA" sign above it. The shirts were $4 more a piece. I instantly dropped all of the other shirts and picked up the made in USA shirts. I am willing to pay more to support our own! I just wish all of the HD merchandise was made in the USA, but at least now some of the dealerships are offering an option to buy American.

I just bought t shirts for my business and had them screen printed. Mine are US Made 50/50 poly cotton by DUKE Athletic Products. Wholesale was $3.75 per shirt but would have been much less if I had bought in a larger volume like HD can. With screen printing I'm in under $10 per shirt and sell them for $20 ($18 if I know you well or you show cleavage)

This made me curious so I checked my shirts. I have nine shirts that have been given to me as gifts by my wife, kids or brother, except for the two I bought on my two trips to Sturgis. As follows:
Cancun HD, made in Mexico
Seattle HD, made in Mexico
Sturgis #1, made in Nicaragua
Sturgis #2, Made in USA
Mile High HD, Made in USA
Snake River HD, Made in USA
Pearl Harbor HD, Made in USA
Sound HD, Made in USA
