I don't have any advice on the issue, but would like to know what your thoughts on the kit are. I have been wanting to put jockey shift on mine and it doesn't seem like there are many choices for a kit.
he's pricey... but it 100% complete with everything you need, with decent directions. The parts themself are beautifully/quality built.
It took me 2.75 hours, but that included pulling exhaust and grinding down a pair of needle nose pliers because I couldn't find my snap ring pliers and talking to my mother who called while I was laying on the garage floor.
If I have 1 complaint about it as a DIY it would be a Harley issue. some parts using metric fasteners and some SAE and a few of them that they must have used the world's strongest man to tighten. I actually snapped an allen wrench trying to loosen a bolt
I should also mention that when you first open the box, there was a moment where I said...this is what I waited almost 6 weeks for? but as you see how easily everything goes together and the quality of his machining you see why the delay,
It may be nothing more than a matter of acquiring the "feel" for your particular set-up. I had one on my Nightster and it was a lot touchier than the one I have on my '87 Sloptail. They are also a little touchy if the clutch plates get even a bit sticky. One thing that can help is to make the lever longer; this makes your foot travel a longer distance to move the cable/clutch plates the same distance. But it isn't an easy fix, depending on how the clutch pedal/lever is fastened to the mount, whether you can fab and weld, etc.

I didn't even think of the lever....I put the HD lever on and put the Labroila lever on the shelf. They are different lengths. I 'm going to try that tomorrow (But the HD lever is a little longer. I would think that helps , but I'll see)
just as an update. It was an install error. I adjusted the lever so that the cable bottomed out on the floorboad instead of when the clutch disengages .
So as as I was traveling 5" or so with the lever, it felt like it was hitting hard.
Now adjusted correctly, rides like I remember. I did 30 miles right after work, going to head out when rush hour is over to get more "practice"
