A long time ago, my girlfriend took my car for an oil change, and the dumb a** the lube placeput at least one quart or more too much. <snip>
He wasn't a dumbass . . .
He FecKed it up on purpose knowing it'd cause a symptom of some type and hoped she'd be back the next day.
I kinda like filling to no more than 1/4 qt low.
Seems when I read exactly a 1/2 quart low and I add a half quart it's always just a tad too high.
Or maybe I just can't measure . . .
So, my turkey baster has too wide of an opening to fit in the oil tank to start the removal process. [:@] So I sucked it up, threw it up on the lift, and drained about 1/2 quart out. I have another quart on fresh, so if I went too far, I can top it off pretty easily.
Not that big a chore really, the tough part is keeping the bolt close enough so that too much doesn't come out, and getting it back in w/o making a huge mess!
Word to the wise: when the dipstick says"add 1 quart", it's not true! Don't be a dipstick likemeand just keep pouring!
