Most states allow lane sharing and since you never gave an indication you were going right the other rider passed you. Legal, no, illegal, maybe.
not gonna get involved in the back and forth, but wanted to mention that you got that backwards. very few states allow lane sharing. if you are on a bicycle, motorcycle or whatever, you are entitled to the full use of your lane.....
