The plan covers towing and replacement wheels. I'll probably never need it but just wondered if I damage a wheel on a pot hole if the underwriters would deny a claim just because I wasn't using the Harley Dunlops.
I would think, that if it is a Harley plan....that they would cover Harley wheels and a tire installed at a Harley dealer. Why would Harley want to warranty a wheel not made by them?
I may be totally wrong...
I dont know anyone who has the plan.. thinking call your dealer and Ask,, then let us know..
dealer won't be able to answer that question. call the underwriter, cna, and talk to them. from what i understand, they will cover the wheel and/or tire, but only up to the amount of the stock equipment. so if you have a custom wheel, and get it damaged, they'll replace it with the oem, unless you pony up the extra.
I just went through this. I replaced my HD tire with a American Elite. Got a nail in the tire and found out that it has to be a HD tire for the ESP to cover it. (
The plan will only cover the same tires that came stock on the bike...as I've been told when purchasing the extended warranty. I had my bike in for a prepaid service today, prepaid by the dealer as incentive to buy my bike two months ago, and there were two guys getting their rear tires replaced under the plan. As long as the remaining tire tread has 3/32" or more left....it is fully covered. Minus a deductable.
Why wouldn't you get the plan? You know a bolt or nail is going to find your rear tire just before it needs to be replaced. And with the compensator issues, infotainment system, hydraulic clutch.....it's money WELL spent! Unless you plan on trading in the next two or three years.....Good Luck!
