anyway to repair chips in chrome?

The straight skinny. 'Course,these guys do a professional job. Might not be hinkey enough for you. You could have bought new pegs for peanuts,so what you "saved" on second hand crap is out the window,huh?

I'd bake them, to make sure there is no water, then seal with clear coat nail polish. Make sure it gets in deep. Other than a rechrome, that should help stop it from spreading as quickly.

No I sent them back for a refund. They were not packaged correctly when shipped. Live and learn. Kinda makes buying parts on the forum more of a crap shoot though doesn't it.

Always is a crap shoot. Mostly,what you get,is someone else's bad choice. Best thing is...........never buy used parts.........ever.

I had a set of brackets like that from a forum sale and they too were damaged. I bought some rattle can chrome paint and sprayed them with that. No, it wasn't shiny chrome like plating would be, but it did a remarkable job at hiding the scratches and you really had to look close in order to see an issue.
