I pulled my fuel injected tank off to run some wiring under it. The fuel quick disconnect is now leaking, and it's not under pressure yet. It's been off once before with no problem. What's the fix?
The o-ring that seals the od of the fuel line gets hard and if not disturbed won't leak. The problem is you can't get one from the dealership. They are a pain to get out and just as much a pain to get back in. If you can get it out you could take it with you and try to size it at the hardware store. I was lucky, as I replaced a friends fuel line inside his tank and had his old one around when a buddies started to leak after he popped his off for a cam change.
I know it's the old boring saying here on the forum but, there was a tread about a year ago.
The o ring cannot be had at the dealer but, the old tread gives the exact sizing and material and suggests the shop (I believe it was a shop chain) it can be bought from in the US. There are 2 rings in there. When assemble use some engine oil as a lubricant.
Edit.
Found the tread.
Make sure you check if this does applies to you! https://www.hdforums.com/forum/exhau...r-petcock.html
