mini ape install help
was wondering if anyone else on here did any handlebar installs to a taller bar without having to lengthen wires and cables? the guy i talked to at the harley shop were i bought my bike said that on my 2013 electra glide ultra classic i could install up to a 12" set of bars without having to change out my factory clutch cable and brake lines. he said there was enough tucked into the fairing to accommodate the added 4" in bar height i am fixing to gain. the bars im installing on my bike are the harley davidson bat wing mini apes part #57474-11. while i have faith that the boys at harley know more about my bike than i do i would just like to know if anyone else has managed this install themselves and whether any hardware changes were needed or if any other problems arose out of this particular upgrade. thanks in advance.

4" is a lot. The old rule of thumb was 2", anything more and you would need longer cables. The newer bikes seem to be coming with longer wiring for the handlebars but not necessarily longer cables/brake lines. Usually the clutch cable on a batwing bike is fairly taut and doesn't have much room to move. I would recommend buying a clutch line and brake line that are +2" (or +4" if you really want to make sure you have the length you need or a bit extra) from stock to have on hand when you do the install, then if you don't need them simply return them...
