Screwed up big time
Sorry to hear about your problem. I have used in the past a lot of stainless nuts and bolts and when they are tightened down the stainless tends to lock up on it's own, we always used a dab of anti seize to prevent this from happening. As far as drilling them out, ouch doesn't usually work so well, can you get a cutting wheel into the space between the faces of the bracket, if so you can cut it through and then get it to a machine shop where they have the equipment to drill it out.
