Looking for a good set of rear shocks. 08 bagger. I think my stock shocks are shot. Chime in. I know a lot of you guys have new bikes but some must have replaced there shocks by now.
I changed out the stock air shocks on my '14 Road King 2 weeks ago for the HD premium ride adjustable shocks p/n 54000008. Just did a 1,700 miles ride on the Blue Ridge Parkway last week and the improvement in ride quality and handling was dramatic. Hitting pot holes or railroad tracks no longer is a jarring event. It has made obvious the weakness of the stock front forks with old tech damper rods. I'm very happy with the new shocks.

In about a week I am going to pull the JRI 13" Bs from my RKC in favor of a 12" shock. I had knee surgery and need the bike to be a little lower so I can throw my leg over. These shocks have been fantastic shocks and are fully adjustable. They have about 10K on them but still appear new. I'm gonna ask 600 shipped for the pair. PM if interested.

JRI B 13" Sweep Valve single adjustable. Emulsified 13" shock with 3.71" of stroke & adjustable compression & rebound sweep valve, non-adjustable end eye.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...-b-shocks.html

If you ride solo many of the decent quality shocks are likely to be suitable, however if you take along Mrs NH regularly the two of you may find that it is worth paying for top shocks, to give her a decent ride and to deal with the bumps and thumps that lesser shocks suffer from under the extra weight.
I drained the old oil (5wt) out of my stock shocks and added BelRay 10wt. Made a world of difference and cheaper also. Found the thread to do it on here.
