Fuel Line Quick Disconnect

Fuel Line Quick Disconnect
I wanted to install a quick disconnect in the crossover fuel line on my 07 FLHT. I did a search as to what size the line was. I got a lot of hits that said the line was 5/16", I also got some that said the manual was wrong and the size was 1/4", then I got a few that said Touring models were 5/16" and all others were 1/4"
So I went ahead and ordered a plastic 5/16" disconnect on Ebay from cascade_lakes_motorsports. It was only $10.99 U.S. The thing works great, you have to be careful because some of the disconnects on Ebay don't shut off the fuel flow when disconnected. This one does. They also sell them for 1/4" lines.

It was only $10.99 U.S. The thing works great, you have to be careful because some of the disconnects on Ebay don't shut off the fuel flow when disconnected. This one does. They also sell them for 1/4" lines.

Neat idea, and if you buy a second pair to connect a Y-style drain hose you could drain your tanks easily. Lots of nasties live in the bottom of fuel tanks including water.
