Default Heavy Breather

Could any one tell me how best to remove the round buttonsthat cover the breather ports on the heavy breather without causing damage. Iam installing a new air cleaner and do not want to damage the buttons orbacking plate. I have enclosed a picture, to show what I am talking about.
Thanks in advance.

I pried the edge up a little bit with an old credit card and got it started that way.

The buttons are just held in with o-rings. Just use care and gently pry them a little all around and they will come off.
