I am looking for a wall mount system for detachables,...tour pac, back rest, luggage rack, etc. I've seen them advertised but they seem a bit pricy for what you get.
I have to believe someone out there has come up with nice, functional home grown version so I thought I would ask.
Just been through the process of what to do with my detachables. Being in New Zealand we either have limited options or expensive options but we're known for being resourceful. I made 2 wall racks today. One out of timber for myself and one timber backed but recycled alloy rack frame for my mate with unfortunate helmet hair.

I have threaded steel rod inner sleeved with a hollow alloy tube outer as the mounting rods spaced according to the quick detach mounts.
If you want more detail I can throw some numbers together and more detailed pics.
There's only one rule - measure twice and cut once (whilst hiding any cockups from view)
Cheers Wolfie
I had some perforated angle (the kind used on some shelving units) and bought some threaded rod, some lightweight tubing and made my own. fastened to studs in garage and viola! instant storage! looks much the same as the alloy unit above!!
