Blue LT is fine I find the screws less sticky using some of the blue.. I only Tq the screws to about 60 in lb..The screws on later bikes are T27 .. Don't use a T25.. If the screw seems to need excessive force. You might need to tap on the screw a little.. If you are using a socket with remove the ratchet and tap on the socket with a ball peen or brass hammer. Try again.

I never used loctite on my derby cover. Hand tightened the screws and the never came loose. I didn't want any issues with the screws sticking or stripping of they didn't want to break loose.

That's whats good about blue LT.. It acts as anti-sieze.. Sometimes don't even bother to use it. I agree about the TQ. I use a torx screw driver to RnR the cover.

No Loctite on the Derby screws - since the bike leans toward the Derby cover side, I had someone sit on the bike to keep it upright as I replaced mine - then step back and enjoy the new look

I wanted to thank everyone for the useful tips. I ended up loosening the bolts, then put the kick stand on 2 2x4's. This brought it straight enough where no oil spilled out. See the pic.
