Crank but not STARTING engine?
2007 Fatboy. Just finished the top end. It cranks but does not produce spark in the motor. No trouble codes or check engine light. Changed spark plugs and wires and same issue. Batteries and fuses show no issue. Been told either ignition coil or crank position sensor. I did bottom work and top end rebuild. All wires and gaskets are in place the only thing is not sure if there is a way to determine either its a sensor or coil. Fuel pump is working btw and fuses were all checked as that was checked as well as the quick disconnects. Not compression either since i got brand new compression releases. Looked through the service manual and went through the fuses and ignition switch all properly seated and has power to them. Fuel Injector's connecters are good. Only culprit is the ignition coil but wanted to know if anybody has ran through this problem before.

the manual should list test for teh crank position sensor. It should show low ohms across the leads, no ohms to ground, and a small AC voltage with the engine turning. Manual will give exact values.
Ok guys it was the damn fuel filter being clogged up. Im changing out both pump and filter. Clean the injectors too. I did spark test and yes i have spark. Did a compression test and sure enough have compression.
Well i did a compression test and tested the ignition and both very good. So fuel it is. Just took out a pretty clogged filter. Im going to change the pump too and clean the injectors. Probably got clogged up from being empty for nearly 4 months when i was doing this project.
