Default Passenger peg help needed

I installed a set of Drag Specialties passenger peg mounting brackets on my 2016 FXDB. They mounted up fine. I tried installing some cheap pegs and they would barely move up and down and would not go all the way down or up. I pulled the front factory peg off my bike and tried it. Same result, peg won't go all the way down. Anyone have these mounts and have a recommendation? I installed the spring clips in the same fashion the factory pegs had them installed.

Update: just in case anyone else buys these Drag Specialties passenger peg mounts, I wanted to give an update on how I got them to work. First I ground down the "up" stop tab between the mounting ears. This allowed the peg to fold all the way up. Next I had to grind down the radius area of the peg. There just isn't enough clearance on the mounts to allow the pegs to move up and down without removing material. BTW, I tried 3 sets of pegs before deciding to grind, none would clear on either side of the bike.
