On my 2013 Street Glide, the is a hollow tube coming down on the right side of bike that has nothing in it. The tube is loose, and not cable tied to anything.
Stick it inside of the frame rail to keep away from exhaust. This photo is from when I was doing work on the bike to keep track of where things go, but it shows how far back it is normally.
