Buy the Lift, I didn't get the side ramps,I made my own,I made them out of Aluminum, lighter and narrowed,so I wouldn't be as far away from the side of the bike when standing next to it, but still wide enough to use when driving on,plus I tack welded a lip on those side ramps so the stuff doesn't roll off to the floor,,,,,,,,,
I've been using a J&S jack for general maintenance and cleaning tasks for a while and I've been really happy with it.
But, I'm about to move into a bigger place (with a much bigger garage) and that's gotten me to thinking about getting a lift table.
Soooooo, the question is. What's the benefit of a lift table over a good floor jack?
Its like going from standard def to high def. Get an air over hydraulic if you can but either way it will be the best tool you ever bought. I use mine all the friggin time.
I bought the Redline trike lift. The side rails only go halfway up the side, making it easier to work on the engine and front end. Besides the trike and dyna I've had the snowbrush tractor, the ZTR mower, and a couple of ATVs on it. I spent the extra coin for the electric pump, worth every penny.
Another option, some guys that didn't want to lose the space dug down and set the table top level with the garage floor...
I got a Handy B.O.B 1500 from mile X equipment in Coldwater Ohio. Pneumatic operated, a small compressor will run it. They also had Titan lifts there. Nice to be able to see what your buying. I drove down there and picked it up, no shipping. Got side extensions, and vise with it. Solid as a rock. Use it for my mower as well as an adjustable work bench.
We use Handy lifts at the shop, we have had 9 of them for almost 10 years now with no trouble at all from any of them. At our houses we use the Handy knock off from Derek Weaver (https://www.derekweaver.com/bikers-g...eaver-tx-1000/). WE are lucky enough to live in Fort Worth where Derek Weaver is so we picked up the lifts for $599 each. His lift is very nice, and damn close to the Handy lifts from every aspect except for the wheel vise. The Derek Weaver lift will be more than adequate for the home mechanic for years and years, and it is definitely 2-3 steps better than the Harbor Freight lift. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask...
If you check out my pics in my album you can see my lift. The section under the bike I painted HD orange, it's not coated and any spills wipe right up.
