I have this old Harley sissy bar I want to put on my bike but it’s got some rust on it. Aside from sandblasting it and having re-chromed (too expensive for my budget) what’s some other ways I can restore it, removing the rust and preventing future rusting?
No real collector value. Just an old, stock sissy bar. Easily replaced from any one of many aftermarket companies or even a swap meet. New pads and other inserts are also available. I would trash it and replace it.

nothing to to do with collector value, I just wanna use it for now. I’m gonna have a metal fabricator make me a nice tall one once I make a fender and find a king and queen seat. I just want to throw this on so I can tie my backpack or a sleeping bag to it
