General Topics/Tech TipsDiscussion on break in periods, rider comfort, seats and pad suggestions. Tech tips as they become available will be posted here.
I'm having a problem with too much oil coming out of my crank case breather tube on my 52 Panhead. I have an S&Soil pump on it, its not my oil filter mesh too tight, it's not the check ball, or pinched hoses. Any ideas or suggestions would be great. Thanks Tim

Clean it off, take about a cup of oil out of the crankcase, and ride it around again until it's good and hot. That will most likely solve your problem.

Yeah I'm not too full of oil that's for sure. But thanks for your input.
that was my thought also, measure c/c pressure.
how about the breather timing.
how long have you been running the s&s pump?
is the oil bag tied to c/c to equalize pressure
do not remember if there was a screen on the breather or not, but it could be coking up.
run leak down test.
been a long time but vaguely if, and a big if, i remember right, when using a larger volume pump, S&S also has a newer breather with altered timing slots to increase opening time, perhaps a call to s&s tech dept would shine a light on it. also, an enlargement of an oil passage.

Well i just got this bike finisgfi last year and it wasn't doing it all summer last year. I haven't changed anything, but did take out the motor in winter to fix some oil leaks, and this started happening, this summer. Changed the check ball, and thought for a minute I had it, but then she started spitting again. No two parts of this bike were ever together as a bike, I built this from gathered parts over a 20 year period. I'm at a loss for answers, even my old school buddies don't know. Thanks for your input..
