I don't know what section this should go in but I bought a new fuel cap but the wrong one arrived, it is a Harley Davidson Live To Ride chrome fuel cap non vented left hand thread picture below,

But I took them off for something less gaudy.

dusty-kid: if you want to go through the hassle of trying to return it through e-bay or just leave a negative review of the seller. Lesson learned about buying HD parts on e-bay. Not everyone is honest.

They changed the thread midyear 96...I am guessing emissions related....so gas caps fit 84-early 96...late 96-99 on split tanks...some aftermarket will fit both...
They look exactly the same visually...hard to tell the difference by looking at them...the easiest way to tell a early from late 96 softail ...the late 96 has a fusebox under the seat
