Default Loose feeling throttle

Im new to HD’s and the throttle on my 2019 RGS seems excessively loose. Dealer said it normal, but with this TBW mechanism being soooo responsive any sizable bump or movement makes the bike accelerate in short bursts. Is there a tech tip to put a shim in the throttle housing to tighten up the X-axis movement of the throttle?

I do realize it should freely rotate about the X-axis, but the lateral movement along X seems a bit too excessive for me. Or do I suck it up buttercup and deal with it because thats the way it is?

Sloppy controls is a Harley mainstay. RSD might have a way to reduce the slop.

Subscribed , mine also " rattles " and feels loose . I've gotten used to it and doesn't possess a problem , but if there is a way to tighten it up and make it smoother , I'd be happier .

My Road King was OK until I put heated grips on. The heated throttle grip introduced a lot of lateral (L-R) play, more then the non-heated grip. So after dealing with it for a while I went to the local Ace hardware and picked up a 1.33" inside diameter plastic washer, about 2mm thick. Trimmed the outer diameter down a bit to match the flange of the grip pretty closely, and put a cut in it so I could bend it and slip it over the grip into the slot that the control pack locks into. It took up enough of the lateral play to make a nice difference. No more back and forth slop. There was still enough clearance to let the grip rotate plenty freely, and there's nothing in there to catch it on, so no worries of it sticking. Been using it for about 1200 miles so far with no issue.

Mchad, thanks for the reply, this is what I had in mind exactly. Thanks for the response I will give this a go, but I also want to add heated grips. Wisconsin weather as of late has been crummy and generally unpredictable.
