I have a 2015 FLRT and my reverse broke, does anyone know of a good source for parts? My problem is where the motor bolts on to the assembly by the sun gears one of the two tabs is broken.
Thank you,
Louis
ok, thought it was a mechanical reverse. looked at the parts fiche and hd does not offer parts other than a complete assy at well over 1000 dollars.
what you could try doing is cleaning the base very well and then have it built up via a tig process and then shape and tap.
is the outer gear material steel? if so, is it pressed in or casted in? would be expensive but you could have a cnc shop make a housing out of aircraft grade aluminum. it would be fairly easy since you have a pattern, the old part. they put the machine into learning mode and generate a numerical pattern. then you could offer to sell them to recoup costs.
super duper +1
ride it like you mean it!!!!
i like thinking out the box!
as a side story, had a friend that had an old electra-glide that he put a 3spd + reverse service car tranny on. it was weird to see him back up. any one that asked, his reply was the same: "have to be pretty selective when drunk"!
