I am considering installing a chrome kit on my 2004 Sportster. Other than oil changes and basic maintenance, I have no experience in this kind of thing.
I would like to ask if anyone has 1) any experience in installing a chrome kit and - 2), How difficult is the installation. -3) Is it something you'd even do to your outfit?
I am really considering this but would like to know if there is any reason not to consider it or end result not worth the time and money.
Thank you for any warnings, advice and/or suggestions...
I have not made the purchase yet and there is not much I can find online regarding the installation. Was hoping someone might have gone through the motions and had an opinion.
You do have a good point, I'll call the mfg and ask what kind of project the install is and is there customer support.

Kits often come with instructions, although this one may well say 'follow your fsm'! Check their website to see if the instructions are on there.
The kits from Kuryakyn actually look nice. Not the real thing but I have used a few instead of pulling the primaries off when I didn’t need to. Definitely want to use a quality manufacturer for this though.
If you are planning on installing a Harley accessory, you can go the Harley web site, check out the accessory and on the page there will be a tab with instructions. You can review the instructions and see how to install or use. I find that a handy feature when thinking about or looking for an accessory.

Did you do the install yourself? If so, how long did it take and how difficult was it? Thanks!
