Never needed one before, but hope to travel some this season, Just starting to do some research. Don't quite understand about "lithium" vs, standard starters. Also prices range from $ 59 to over $250, Any recommendations? Thanks!
Stanley "Simple Start" at Wal-Mart. 50-60 bucks...Does All you need it to do. I've used mine to start 4 cylinder car engines, with ZERO issues. Holds charge well. You need to refresh these units a couple of times a year, even if they haven't been used.
When the Antigravity "Micro-Start" units came on the market, I grabbed one. UNfortunately...I didn't know that Lithium batteries shouldn't be stored in hot environments. I kept that unit in the saddlebags, in my garage where, in Florida Summers...it gets HOT. The battery swelled up. When I called the company they (basically) said..."Yea, they do that".
I went with the Stanley to replace it. I do most of my riding, solo...no second bike and I've had a battery fail without warning when I was on the road before. I won't leave home without it.
