76 fxe tank questions..need advice pls..want to get away from the one piece sport Bob tank..I have a modern mounting kit on the way..I assume I would be able to use a shovelhead tank or a modern softail tank now?..witch route should I take?.. it looks like all you'd have to do is take off the l brackets for the sh tank...thanks. Needing to get some tanks ordered.. needing to know what I need for parts..

lol...sorry about that, but ive been a member since 08..was on the mobile and was in a hurry to get some answers..was looking at a couple different deals, certain parts on the way and the start of my weekend to try to get things done and possibly runnin..just got my first harley back after 15-/+ years...just stocked to hear the ole girl run again...i did end up getting the soft tail tank..again in a hurry, i guess i need to slow down and make a plan of what im hoping this to look like..dont care for the (quick bob) tank and it needs a good cleaning inside , paint is out dated also..so...learning and figuring out what i will need to convert it over to (modern flat side tanks)..i got the fl dash and speedo with it(not sure if it works)..or i might get a lowrider dash and speedo to keep from moving the switch..idk....kind of hopin i dont have to cut the rear brackets off the frame to mount the tank kit thats on the way for the softail tank..any advice before i get to deep and sell off all my assets for parts?...thats what i do...lol thanks
