If your bike sat for 8 months without any fuel stabilizer in it , you might still have some bad gas lingering in the lines to the fuel injectors . Throw in some sea foam to help clean out the system and get it running properly , about 1 ounce per gal . Check your throttle body and make sure the butterfly is clean and not blocked with carbon .
Make sure your battery cables are clean and tight , at both ends . Might want to test for voltage as well . Charge up the new battery first , get yourself a battery tender if you don't already have one . Ignition on battery should read 12+ v , idle at 2000 rpm should read 14+ v , but should not go above 15v
Check the bike for error codes , if any post back results .
