Bill,

That's pretty neat. I look foward to retirement from the Corps (5 years). Life and its freedoms will be a little more accessible at that time, and I hope that Kelly and I have the interest to ride together. I hope she'll ride or ride with me, but I think your story is pretty [sm=shades.gif]

My wife was content in the back until peer pressure from friends wifes who all had the bug got to her, Statements like why put your life in his hands. So she learned to ride on a Rebel that was passed arround this group of ladies, a bike that was dropped more than Paris Hiltons thong. She took the MSF course, at 53 , and was the only female to pass. Now she had to have her own and was convinced that my Fatboy was too much to handle. ENter in 883 Hugger deceked out the way she wants it yada,yada,yada.....Bought new in 02 it has only 591 mi, she has more excuses for not riding it than your local weaherman. She has also decided that a Sportster is too top heavy (told her so) and she needs a Dyna Low Rider. She now finds it more enjoyable to ride with me, than the stress of following me on her own bike, and I have to agree cuz its alot more enjoyable for me as well since I not worrying about her.

Some women just will never ride. Bought my wife a ride about 10 years back, and it sat in the garage for a year, so I gave it to my brothers wife. Sat in his garage for a year. Took it back and sold it. My wife loves the bike, but she wants to be a pillion rider. I don't understand, but as long as she wants to ride with me I'm not going to complain.

Fortunately, I have a wife who loves to ride with me. Picked up the ride in May of '04. Got about 7500 miles on it now. I'd bet the wife was with me for at least 6,000 of them.

She does want her own, but our current financial situation won't allow it.

Like others posted here, My wife prefers to ride two up rather than have her own bike. I've offered and am more than willing to buy another bike but so far she shows no interest in that option. She does love to ride two up though. We put over 15 thousand miles on our '04 Heritage after purchase in March '04, many of those two up. She has never complained about weather, speed, destination. She's just into the time together. We've found the riding brings us closer as we get away from the office and home responsibilities and it's just us. When I suggested I was going to ride 1/1/05 even though it was wet around here, she was all for it and we headed out and had a great ride. Looking forward to many more opportunities ahead.

Same here...you put it into the words I was looking for. It's her and me, no teenagers, not worries, just us. That's a good thing!

She likes the full face helmet though, so it's hard to talk when riding..
