I have a 2010 Street Glide and the cruise control stopped working. It was working fine the last time I road the bike and then yesterday nothing. The rocker lights up like it should but nothing on the Tac gauge, no orange or green light. Tried to put it diagnostic mode but still no light on the cluster. Any clue where to start looking or suggestions?
Check your fuse / Box and make sure it's clean , could be just a bad fuse . Next , check for power at the switch , if nothing , could be the connector under the fairing .
Check your brake lights. If the brake light is "on" all the time it may be a brake light switch that went bad. Happened to me yesterday - cruise stopped working mid ride. Found out my rear brake light was "locked on". The rear brake light switch "died" and cruise started working again. Speaking of this: I have seen posts on the forum that the Harley hydraulic brake light switch "fails" on a regular basis, and some recommend a "non-OEM" replacement like the Accel 181101 (for 08 FLHRC). Any thoughts on this?
Did you do any work on bars?? Check the wires under the right switch cover and make sure you don't have a pinched wire. I changed grips last year, was very, very careful reinstalling the switch covers. But....yeah, I had a pinched wire. Reposition and cruise came back.
[[color=#000000]If you will take a look at my post, you will see that I removed the phrase that upset youat 8:54 in my edit, an hour before your response.
I realized it was not appropriate so I removed it, but my response was so that people would not be gun shy about giving out that information.
Dan, I can assure you that it didn't upset me. In fact, I chuckled when I saw it came from you of all people
i had two brake sw failures and replaced with an automotive one which are getting harder to find these days. it had a larger diaphragm and was a tight fit. in both failures, it was the metal disk that relaxed because you could work it with a pick through the hole, odd since you would think hyd pressure would have done the job.
on the cruise, no codes??? it will also not work if you lose an input from the throttle position sensor on the grip, there are two as a check/balance, same as in the auto world.
