Cool Kickstand screwy?

I have a 2019 flde that I bought new. It's got about 11K on it right now. Lately I've been having a hell of a time picking it up off the kickstand! Like, just within the last two weeks. When we first bought it, we had to put it on our dual trailer along with my husband's bike to get it home, as we bought it while visiting family in Colorado. Unfortunately he left the kickstand down while trailering and when I brought it to our local dealer for the first service, he noticed some little screw or something was damaged and replaced it and said it was good to go. It ALWAYS seemed "funky", like it had two stages before it settled. I read somewhere that HD stands in general are weird, but this seems excessive and now it sure looks to me like it leans a lot more than my husband's 2019 Heritage. I can just imagine going into the service department and them looking at me (female, 62) and not taking me seriously.....

2019 flde

The Jiffy stand is an acquired taste. I always make sure I kick it out all the way. It will still seem squirrelly at times, but it always stays locked.

I wouldn’t hesitate to ask your tech to take a look at it. Probably a common request.

I always give it and extra kick, ot two. It just seems to lean more than it use to. I'm not thrilled about having to ask my husband to stand the damned thing up though! I absolutely love the ride of this bike, not so much the parking thing. 😏

Bracket could be bent at the frame, but I doubt it.
Arm could be bent.
Could be a shorter length aftermarket.
Put a jack under the bike, stand it up off the stand and get down there and check it.
If all the bolts are tight and there are no cracks (it happens) you're good to go.

I would have to agree with Ripsaw, something about the lean and how far forward the jiffy stand leg is, doesn't look right. Can you get a few close up pictures of the kickstand, and bracket?

Its not an aftermarket, I am original owner and haven't had it replaced.

Your Harley has not been lowered?

Know on my Harley that it did take a little time to get use to it.

Most bike stands just roll a tad past 90 and simply use weight of bike to keep all good.

This works great except on steep grades. Parking facing down a steep hill then requires you to be in first gear since it can roll off the stand. Makes it more of a juggling act to start it in neutral on the stand. My last Yamaha was like that.

It truely is best to lift on a bike jack or roll over on some blocks and check your stand. Make sure it's not bent. Retaining bolt is properly torqued. Spring is in correct position. Rubber bumper stop is there.

Then as you roll it down and let it go up into its lock engagement that keeps it from the bike rolling off the stand that non jiffy stands can do.

Once you understand it, it will make since to you.

On mine, it is part of the fwd control. It was a little loose in the slot. Since I have a small shop, I replaced the lock tab on mine.

Made it wider so once half way in, it does not rock. However, I still have to make sure it's in before rolling bike over.

No problem for my 6' 3" height. On rough concrete, I also need to make sure it goes all the way over.

Take it in and have it looked at, I can't see why they would have an issue you being a woman.

Mine on the FXLR is doing that, plan on getting them to give it a look next time I'm in. I worked best I could with me holding the bike up and trying to work on it and got it to go back to normal, but now it has gone back to doing like that, if I'm careful I can guess where it needs to go and set it down and it does go outward at the correct location occasionally. Seems solid enough, just goes too far forward and leans more, pretty sure something broke. Just started doing it a month or so ago that I noticed.
