Default Smart Brake Module.

I am trying to find out what your thoughts are on the following module. Useful or a useless gizmo.

Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated, I am expecting delivery of an Ultra Glide Trike CVO in May, and sort of like the principle of this device for security reasons.
https://safer-turn.com/smart-brake-module/

" FLASHES YOUR BRAKE LIGHT WHEN SPEED DECREASES DUE TO ENGINE BRAKING OR DOWN-SHIFTING Smart Brake Module is a small electronic device which senses when the bike is slowing down by the means of engine braking or downshifting and it activates the brake light.

You can choose between 2 modes for the operation of the Smart Brake Module – PULSING and STEADY mode "

I took a chance and purchased one a few weeks ago. Haven't had a chance to wire it up yet. I'll report back when I do but it probably wont be until next week.
My concern is with how sensitive the thing might be. I want to alert folks behind me, not **** them off if it's constantly going off.

IDK if it makes the brake light come on too often people behind you will get "dull" to your brake light and not stop when they need to

They claim the following. I will try to see if I can find the installation documents to see how sensitivity is adjusted.

FULLY ADJUSTABLEIncrease or decrease the sensitivity yourself

Let me know what you find, I see where it says that on the website but I see nothing in the instruction sheet that came with it explaining how to adjust anything. Says it automatically adjusts each time you start the bike

I could not find the instruction on their site, so I emailed them and within hours they sent me the document. As you say, no information on this document that makes reference to adjusting the sensitivity. So I emailed them again to obtain the information.

Disappointing response from them, on 2 occasions Wednesday they returned my email without answering, Yesterday they sent me a marketing email inviting to make my purchase, I took the liberty to answer by asking again for clarification on how to adjust the sensitivity.. Still no answer. Obviously there is no way to adjust the sensitivity and if this is how they deal with honest questions and customer support, well they won't have me as a customer.

From a review on Amazon

I found the sensitive of the brake module could be adjusted by altering its mounting position. The unit is mounted (facing forward) inline with the bike center.
It is supposed to be level. But level was too
sensitive. Tilting the front up a little decreases the sensitivity - it’s perfect.

Oddly, after 3 emails as mentioned above to my surprise I received 2 emails back today.....here it is, so it appears to confirm the info found by Back-n- Black on Amazon,

Hello Pierre,

You can tilt the device with the cable end towards the ground to decrease sensitivity of the device so it will only engage under heavy engine braking. A 10 degree slope will result in about 25% decrease in sensitivity.

Kind regards,
Timmy
