My Harley gets to a quarter tank and it starts sputtering and backfiring. It is fuel injected.. I fill it up with gas and it runs fine.. Any ideas or what I should do??
I had the same issue with my 2002 FXSTI while under warranty. Dealer replaced the plastic fuel feed hose inside the tank.
Been fine ever since.
Same thing happened to my '05 FXD.

Thanks!
Next time it starts cutting out on you, turn the bike off, remove the gas cap, turn the bike back on to get the fuel pump going and grab a flashlight to see if fuel is spraying around inside the tank. If it is, you just found the problem.
