General Topics/Tech TipsDiscussion on break in periods, rider comfort, seats and pad suggestions. Tech tips as they become available will be posted here.
I have a 20 road glide special, I have the adjustable H-D backrest mount installed and need to leave that in place while having a “in town” seat. I like the stock seat for touring.
so, I need/want to keep the mount in place and get a new custom seat that moves myself back and definitely lower on the bike. I’d love to find a step up seat where I can leave my mount in place. I don’t need the functionality of the rider back rest with the new seat, but I don’t wanna have to move the mound every time I change the seat .
Any recommendations for an after market bad *** in town seat?
It might be easier to get your current seat modified to your liking. That back rest mount puts a lot of hardware under the seat and is probably going to be hard to find an aftermarket seat that can accommodate it. There are also a few accessory HD seats that won't fit with all that's going on underneath it. Mean City Cycles does great work and is highly respected on this board. They've done a few seats for me and I am completely satisfied with the outcome.
