When in doubt, whip it out.
Well maybe ... you can split it with me and I will give you monthly updates on how it's going...
Or for the good of the forum... you know first hand info and all that... maybe all the members can send .75 cents in and we can buy it and then run it's course. This will be great info in 5 years for future members. Love it.

As it would be interesting if the OP were to (or not to) make the ESP purchase and we all follow it. It truly has no value. Other than just being interesting. Bcs when it comes to this type of thing, overall, it is the larger picture that matters.

Sure, someone somewhere will be HAPPY the insurance policy. But for the offer to even be made via the insurance company, the actuarial chaps you know ran the numbers and whatever being insured must be PROFITABLE for the insurance company to make the offer to the general public.

If it was a first year model it might be good like I did with my 07 FLHTC, I u$ed it many times. On my 14 Trike I didn’t get it.
mostly because I’m a smartass now .

Sorry if anyone misunderstood. My sharing the expense reply was meant to be humor. Maybe it should be deleted.
Thanks- JLC

Oh............LOL. Nah my friend. It is fine. I'd say, let it ride. The chaps here are very forgiving.

But in the future, if in doubt, feel free to use the emoticons to your heart's content. All is good.

Stay well, happy holiday........

For the most part, all have said no - I am one that have purchased it several times. Had it on my 2004, 2011, 2014 and then got it on my 2021. When I traded the 2011 for the 2014, I got a refund of the unused portion.

Usage - on my 2004 - they replaced the speakers and shifter.
2011 - nothing
2014 - compensator
2021 - still under factory - however, I am triking the bike - so, the ESP has been cancelled as it will not be covered. From Jan 2021 to Nov 2021, it cost me about $300.

I found another warranty company that will cover the bike as a trike. If I recall, their 4-year plan is $1448 (0 deductible). So, this is 4 years after the original 2-year Harley warranty. So, in my case, the Harley is up in Jan 2023 - so, I will be covered until 2027. The conversion is being done in March 2022.

I decided that I did not know what additional strain the conversion might cause on the bike - so, for me, its they way to go.

So my interpretation on your answer is you have bought it for each bike and hardly used it. Looks like only once on each bike. If I may ask was it a break even expense at this point or did you pay more for the years of insurance than you did for the total savings on all covered repairs you did. I understand your getting it again for the trike so I'm assuming that you like the protection it gives you. Thanks for your reply.

For me it is also the way to go. I like the peace of mind when I'm 500 miles from home. And let's get real these are mechanical devices and things do go wrong. I have used it several rimes, nothing real serious but it was taken care of so for me it's worth the peace of mind.
