I have a 2012 103 Road King Classic and the spoked wheels are terribly corroded so im looking at alloys and want to keep the same 16 x 3.00 front wheel so im about to buy airstrike wheels from a 2006 street glide. Does anyone know if the wheels will fit my 2012 Road King . ..
Thanks .
I believe the front will as I've run later front wheels on the front of early TCs. The rear wheel, I suspect will give you issues. @multihdrdr should see this and can probably answer.
One thing I forgot for the front wheel is that the bearings will have to be change over to 6205 25mm with some inner spacers. You can also simply by a 1 inch axle.. The 06 uses wider bearings with a 1 inch hole.. Again multihdrdr knows the exact issues. Since I was converting later front, all I did was turn the front axle to 25mm.
The 2006 Front will go on with minimal effort ... get the correct bearings, center spacer, & bearing shim. (details upon request)
But for the Rear ... Your Original Equipment is a 5" wide rim with an integral Cush drive Hub unlike the 2006 Rear.
But the good thing is that the Single 06-08 16x3 Front Airstrike a Single 09-13 16x5 Rear Airstrike are pretty easy to get and cheap because they are "Undesirable" to most others
