I want to change the passenger footpegs on my 06 Softail Deluxe, but my snap ring pliers are too big. What brand/size pliers can I use to accomplish this??
I have a set.... probably 40 years old!! May have gotten them from either Snap-On or Mac Tools. They have interchangeable tips and a couple different sizes. I would suggest going to your local auto parts store, take a drill bit that fits the snap ring, and look for a set that has same size as drill. Best I've got right now!! Good Luck!
I have a set of snap ring pliers, and I use it every other blue moon. I would ask some of your friends if they have a set you could borrow. Put what you save in the gas tank.,,,
I think you can choose between small (common sized) and heavy duty sized. You need the common sized. For smaller snap rings, any cheap pliers work fine for me (shadetree use). For the bigger rings that would test the limits of the small pliers, I have a pair of Lisle heavy duty pliers that seem decent for the price.
