I spent a lot of time learning metric and doing problems in metric. But never use it in real world other than liter vs fifth.
Daily dance for me, all of our continual parade of new budding engineers are all wet behind the ears fresh work visa type's with marginal english skills on a good day so everything they bring me blueprint wise is metric dimensioned, problem is with the bigger stuff all the steel here is in inches or has to be labor intensely machined to size and oh boy do I get to have fun raining on these kids parades explaining why they have to rework things to accommodate the differences, talk about deer in the headlights looks and quivering lips on occasion.
Even more fun when some the china import machinery goes fubar and we get retrofit mixing both systems. You develop a serious dislike for dual scale tape measures everybody seems to be in love and some of our so called maintenance guys constantly screw up which scale they need to use
I only have Snap On, and a few Matco dials for intricate stuff like injector bodies, but I can recommend them highly. Some of my Snap On beam clickers have been sent out and recertified several times since the 90s, always around 2% accuracy.
The work on these bikes does not require perfect fastener torque, but it was always interesting to see the various wrenches come back from certification. Some of the cheaper torque wrenches varied wildly, and could not be certified for some of the government contracts we bid.
Outside the US everything is metric so that would follow. Been a learning curve in my trades swapping between imperial and metric systems, gotten where I can ID a bolt by looks now. All my torque wrenches are dual scale.
The United States does not use the "imperial" system.

You should have come a nice long chat with all the import engineers I deal with, they drop that word as reference regular, why I included it for context. Never knew part of the job was going involved on the fly conversions of what the other guy thinks he means.
And I hate to tell you the US uses everybody's systems, a common standard went out long ago, I've been neck deep in every odd fastening system there is on production equipment made globally.
