Default Solo Loading Bagger into a Pick-up

Looking for some feedback on ramps for solo loading and unloading of a pick-up. I have a SG and a Fatboy and at times will need to move 1 in my truck The truck is an 05 Tundra 4X4 that has a 6.5 longbed (tailgate 34" from ground) The Having the gate down over the road does not bother me. I'm looking at getting the "Big Boy" 10' ramps that are 38" wide and some sort of removable chock. The "Black widow" and "Big boy" ramp adds look good in all the mags and online but I have never seen anyone use them...
Anyone have experience loading/unloading with these type of ramps solo?

The main thing when loading a bike by yourself (using ramps) is to have the ramp wide enough to put your feet down on and balance the bike if you have to mid ramp. After that, as long as it has traction so the wheel can get a grip, you should be OK.

i know this may be a need-to thing for you, but i would not try that with my bike for any amount of $$....just my 2 cents. I you can find somewhere to back the truck up to make a level plane you would be better off.

I would have a buddy there for the first time loading. If your ramps aren't long enough for the tailgate height, the framemay bottem out after the front wheel breaks over the ramp. About dropped mine when I brought it home from the dealer this way, thank God my friend was there. 700 pounds is hard to manhandle.

I have a 9 foot curved ramp that is 3 pieces. Center is 18" wide and outsides are 12" wide. They are locked together with fancy muffler clamps and it folds in half. I have no problems whatsoever driving mine up on the back of the truck. Alot of folks are very untrusting of the cables that hold the tailgate... I used my 96 dodge to haul my dresser and several over 650cc 4x4 quads over the years and never had a problem with the cable breaking or the tailgate buckling.

There is a thread somewhere here where others have replaced the cables with metal fold up rods...like the one my current truck (1970 F-100) has.

Also, the ramps come with 2 straps that you can lock the ramp against the tailgate so it won't slide off or spit out if you rap the throttle while loading.
