Some of you may know this name. The company is known for doing seat mods and recovers much like Mean City. The owner of Astech recently died and I believe the business is being bought out by a husband/wife combo who worked for the deceased owner. Anyway.....
I'm considering having them remodel the foam in our LePera seat. I wonder if anyone here has any experience with Astech or has heard anything anecdotal about their abilities?
Sorry, can't help. I've never heard of them Is it a local business?
They are in Marion, IN north of Indianapolis. Their reputation seems solid, but Im being particularly careful given the transition in ownership, business operations, etc. The new business will be named Seat Masters.
I've had them do two seats, one Indian and one Harley. They did a great job. They use gel and temper material, but they put the gel pad below the padding instead of above. So it acts like a shock absorber and doesn't get hot or cold if it were sitting on top of the temper material. Sorry to hear about the owner. They're good to work with. Good luck.

Nice to read this. Ive yet to see a negative review of their work, but it still makes sense to do the intel. Im scheduled for work in 10 days to improve our customized LePera.

They reworked my seat. made an appointment, dropped the stock seat off, went to lunch, Came back and it was almost done, At first I thought this seat is on the hard side, but I found out that I can ride so much longer without my butt burning, Now I love it. What TedMan said is right on the gel pad, I asked what they recommended on a hammock seat if I dropped it off, They would first rip the hammock out of it and start from scratch, Hate to hear about the owner had passed, we set around for about an hour BSing, I had to drive the car up there, since I was still doing rehab from surgery and since the Clan is from this part, I took my 89 year old Mom with me, She enjoyed the visit also. If your close, yes go for it, if you don't like it, they will reworked, I would have them do another one.

Very good to read this review. I've been in contact with them multiple times to be SURE they can rework our seat (above) and still leave it with that tight and smooth custom look it has. We have a lot of money invested in it to this point and it pains me to think of removing the cover and replacing it.
